Problem

This week we’ll focus on the main problem in the story. What is the main problem in the story? How is

the main character trying to solve the problem? What do you predict the solution will be? If you were the

main character, how would you solve the problem? What would you say? What would you do? What

plan would you devise?

  1. I think that the problem is that timothy is sick because that leads to having to move they're house and that leads to seeing the rats and so on. so i think that that is the base problem, but i can not think of a problem that is bigger than the rest. what i am basically saying is that there are a lot of problems.

  3. Great that you're both looking at both big and small problems. Continue to look at events in the story that keep it moving forward. I invite you to share your ideas about your own feelings an possible solutions.

  5. Spring is coming and the Frisby family has to move out of the garden but Timothy is too sick to survive the cold nights. It isn't safe for them to stay and it isn't safe for them to leave.

    1. I know that is true beacause ms. Frisby says that timothy is sick but the summer house is colder so even if they move quickly, he will die IN the house.

  7. The main problem in Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH is that Timothy has a bad case of pneumonia and can`t come in contact with cold air. Which means the Frisby family can not move because their winter house is even colder than their normal house, but if they do not move their house will be turned over by a plow. There is lots of other small problems, but they get along and I don`t see any problem bigger than that. I mean having to move with pneumonia is PRETTY SERIOUS.

  8. I think that the main problem in the story is that Timothy is sick and they can't go to there summer house because Timothy is to sick to move, and if Mrs. Frisby and her family stay Mrs. Frisby's house will be turned over by a plow. So Mrs. Frisby try to get help from the rats that live under the rose bush. Then the rats help Mrs. Frisby by moving her house behind a rock so the plow will go around the rock avoiding Mrs. Frisby's house.
