This week we’ll focus on the main problem in the story. What is the main problem in the story? How is
the main character trying to solve the problem? What do you predict the solution will be? If you were the
main character, how would you solve the problem? What would you say? What would you do? What
plan would you devise?
The main problem is that Mike gets stuck on the island. Mike tries to solve the problem by lighting a fire to attract attention. I would swim to the nearest boat & ask them to take me to my parents.
ReplyDeleteGood start, but I want to invite you to look at smaller problems he faces and think about how those smaller problems move the story forward. Continue to contribute your own ideas and reactions to dealing with what he faces.
ReplyDeleteThe main problem is he gets stuck on an island. He "solves" it by hunting for food and firewood and other things that help him stay alive on the island. If I were him I would not choose to swim to a boat or something like that. I don't exactly know what I would do. I might just wait but, eventually I would probably swim to a boat when one came by.
